It was a lovely Friday evening and a great turn out for Grandville’s Art & Chocolate Walk. There were also a variety of interactional art experiences and performance art shows. Local artist Robert Shangle, who goes by the name LiveStatue, performed at the event. Shangle performs as a (you guessed it!) live statue, complete with eyecatching head to toe gold paint. LiveStatue has also been a part of ArtPrize in Grand Rapids!
Musical performances from Grandville Students entertained the guests throughout the evening. Performances included ukulele-playing fifth graders from Cummings Elementary School, and musical talent from Grandville High School in the form of the choir, band, and the stars from the musical.
Of course, with an Art & Chocolate Walk, there were also desserts! Participants with a sweet tooth were delighted. The offering included delicious chocolate squares, wafer cookies, and doughnut holes. Each venue also had beverages available for the guests. The event was a smashing success!
Many who attended said they can’t wait to go again next year, and we hope you will too! So mark you March calendar if strolling downtown, hand-in-hand, with your sweetheart… eating chocolates and enjoying art sounds good to you. Then finish your romantic evening by returning to a gorgeous guest suite [with a whirlpool tub for two] at PrairieSide Suites Luxury Bed & Breakfast.
