Relaxing, Pampering & Cocktails – Ladies Only!
We were thrilled to host all twelve bridesmaids and the beautiful bride to be, Kylie Clemons, while they stayed here at Prairieside Suites Luxury Bed and Breakfast the Friday night before her Wedding Day. These lovely young women swapped stories of friendship while enjoying cocktails by our pool with lovely views of the flower gardens. They felt right at home at our romantic bed and breakfast. Some lasting memories were made while they took over the entire Grand Rapids Bed & Breakfast and Kylie enjoyed her last night as a single female!
Bright and early on Saturday morning three hair stylists and a make up artist arrived, and we provided each with their own umbrella table around the pool area with wonderful water sounds coming from the waterfall and fountain.
The girls made up fruity mimosa cocktails while getting primped and pampered for the afternoon wedding of Kylie & Nathan.
We served a lovely breakfast buffet that they could enjoy on their own schedule either in the dinning room or poolside.
Kylie’s mom, Colleen, accompanied by a couple Aunts and special friends dressed and prepared themselves for the big day here too.
The whole event was documented with lots of snap shots plus Kelly Sweet from “Timeless Wedding Photography” who took lots of beautiful pictures and said our home and it’s furnishings were a photographer’s dream.
After lots of laughter, food, hair and make-up…
The whole group left for the chapel in a chauffeured bus as I waved and wished them well. What a wonderful day and for them… it had only just begun!

“I married my babysitter”? That’s right, after knowing Missy since she started babysitting for us at 13 years old, I had the opportunity to do something unusual for her…host her small intimate wedding at our bed and breakfast, Prairieside Suites. This is Missy’s second marriage and they are in the midst of building a new home. So it was important for her and her new husband Chris to keep the day simple, stress free and about them. They took their wedding vows with their 5 children while a handful of family and friends looked on. Missy looked stunning in her beautiful red dress and Chris had a matching shirt as they recited the vows they had written for each other. After their ceremony the couple signed their wedding license and had a relaxed time sharing wedding cake and our homemade hot cocoa and coffee with their guests.
